The Project Management Institute (PMI), in collaboration with Anderson Economic Group (AEG), performed a survey of project management employment and industry in 2008, forecasting an increase in demand for project managers.

They've completed the study twice since then - in 2012 and now in 2017, and the demand for project management jobs has not only met, but beyond, expectations. According to a recent report, “by 2027, organisations would require 87.7 million people to work in project management-related roles.”
