What is IIBA?

IIBA or the International Institute of Business Analysis is a non-profit organization based in Toronto that promotes and supports the business analysis discipline. This institute helps business analyst professionals develop their skills and advance their careers by giving them access to quality content related to business analysis.

This organization was founded in 2003, and in 2005, the BABOK guide was released for the first time. CBAP was the first certification to be introduced, and after that, they have introduced many more certifications. IIBA offers three types of membership programs, namely Individual Membership, Organizational membership, and Academic Membership.

IIBA Certifications

Each IIBA Certification is tailored to help professionals succeed in the business analysis domain. The various certifications offered by the institute include Entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA), Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA), Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certification in Business Data Analytics (CBDA), and Agile Analysis Certification (AAC).

What is PMP?

Eligibility

The PMP exam prerequisites depend on the type of degree the individual holds. For those with a secondary degree, a minimum of 7500 hours of experience in leading projects is required. Those with a 4-year Bachelor’s degree require 4500 hours of experience in leading projects. For all candidates, 35 hours of formal project management education is mandatory. 

How to Prepare for the Exam

PMP Certification exam demands familiarity with project management terminologies. The Project Management Body of Knowledge(PMBOK) guide should be thoroughly studied before attempting this exam. The exam duration is 4 hours. It consists of 200 multiple-choice questions. The questions not only test your knowledge but also your real-life problem-solving ability. The pass rates for this exam are estimated to be 50-60% at the first attempt. The Exam consists of five domains: Initiating, planning, monitor-control, Performing and Closing a project. The Executing domain has the most weightage(31%), followed by Monitoring and controlling(25%), Planning(24%), Initiating(13%), and Closing(7%). There are 175 scored questions and 25 unscored ones.
