The differences & similarities the PMP and CBAP Certification holds!

The emergence of new courses each day has made the applicants more confused and determined as it is very tough to decide which program can make their career appropriate while which could lead to the wrong way. The competition is high between two leading programs are Certified Business Analyst Professionals (CBAP Certification) and Project Management Professional (PMP). Mostly the fresh candidates are confused as they are new and keep analyzing which one would make their career flourish. So, you need to explore, what your liking and interest are, and then accordingly you should opt for the credential that would lend you life-time success. Quickly have a look at the difference and similarity between both and decide which one is fixing with your profession.

Similarities between both of them are:

  • The code of ethics and code of conduct for both are the same and need to be followed.

  • The renewal of both is mandatory after certain years.

  • There is a prescribed guidebook for both i.e., if you are doing PMP Exam prep you need to take PMBOK and if going for CBAP preparation you need to take the BABOK guide.

  • The eligibility criteria for both require extensive experience in the respective job field.

  • A written exam for both is conducted and mandatory to pass.

The dissimilarities they hold are:

  • When one does PMP Certification, he or she gets a chance to explore job scope in the field of Project Manager only whereas if you do the CBAP program you will get a chance to explore the Business Analyst job area only. It means both are specified for their respective job field.

We could conclude by saying that both hold their importance and value and are interrelated to each other. However, the right to choose depends on what the applicant wants to become. Still, whether you do PMP Exam Prep or go for CBAP preparation you need to do vigorous hard work and study sincerely as passing in the exam is necessary in both the case.
