CAPM or PMP Certification: which is best for you?

Project Manager is a very high-level position for any person. The different roles and laws that one needs to bear in mind and then behave accordingly come with the classification. People are seeking to update their existing knowledge by introducing new information to it in the modern information era, where the business market yearns for excellence.

There are several certifications in it that one could use to get certified. PMI (Project Management Institute) is internationally known for providing prospective candidates with the best and revised course in terms of project management. But between those courses and stuck thinking, you will be confused which to choose and which not to.

In addition, it can be difficult to decipher the discrepancies and make an informed decision while comparing the two key qualifications of the PMP and CAPM exam. We're going to discuss the distinction between the two to help you determine which one is right for you.

CAPM & PMP Differences -:

  • The first and foremost distinction between the two is that Project Management Professional (PMP) is a professional category, whereas Project Management Accredited Associate is an associate-level course.

  • Being a professional means you have some experience and are known as an expert in the field. PMP is therefore aimed at seasoned project managers, while associates, on the other hand, may be considered the entry stage. It is therefore directed at those trying to learn or develop their management abilities.

  • This entry-level course has less stringent prerequisites, while the exam is comparatively simpler, the specialist needs more prerequisites, and the PMP course-related exam is also rather difficult.

  • Furthermore the associate credential is only for the fresher and graduate, while someone with little experience and who has been working with the projects for a long time can do the PMP.

It will now be evident from the above-stated pointers that both have their significance and meaning, all that matters is what abilities you have. You may select the one that best compliments your records, based on your work experience and qualifications. Just a note, that if you want the PMP course or the CAPM one the effort and hard work remains the same as mandatory to crack the test.
