What are the different Project Management Courses?

The journey of a project manager begins with gaining trusted and recognized credential from an accredited course provider. We all would be familiar with the globally renowned institute that is the Project Management Institute (PMI) that offers different programs to aspiring aspirants. It has been found that many companies list at least a foundational level certification as a prerequisite to being considered for an interview.

But which program is the best to study? This relies on the environment that you will be working in. However, certain project management courses such as the PMP course is geared towards certain types of projects, therefore, you need to thorough research in which kind of project you are likely to be involved so that you can opt the course accordingly.

The different Project Management courses offered by PMI are:

  1. Project Management Professionals (PMP): It is considered one of the leading standard of Project Management. It teaches managing different factors such as time, quality, stakeholders, communication, and the whole process of completing the projects.

  2. Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP): It follows a more in-depth approach to what candidates have learned in the foundation course. Thus, it ensures that after the completion of the program, he/she is ready to apply the agile methodology in a practical project setting.

  3. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM): Once an individual completes the CAPM training, it ensures that the individual is readied to start taking on projects of greater size and complexity. It teaches the project lifecycle, process, and the management of time and quality content.

  4. Project Management Professionals (PgMP): It enhances the skills of managing complex and multiple projects. Moreover, it also teaches them, ways to meet organizational goals and objectives.

  5. Portfolio Management Professionals (PfMP): It is the route to accelerate the advanced skills and experiences of the portfolio managers. It proves that it can carry and complete multiple and complex portfolio projects.

All of the above mentions programs offer training such as CAPM Training or PMP training. Through this, you will get to understand the terminologies and fundamental knowledge of the subject areas more efficiently and quickly.
