The eligibility criteria of PMP certification requires 35 contact hours of formal project management education. This 35 contact hour is crucial for giving the PMP exam and is an absolute requirement. Earning the 35 contact hours is not as hard as one might think.
There are several ways to earn 35 contact hours. These are:
  • Classroom training 
You can earn the required 35 contact hours by enrolling yourself in a classroom training program. Various PMP training companies provide classes. Select one that best suits your needs. Keep in mind that there are advantages as well as disadvantages of classroom training. 

The advantage lies in the interaction between you and the teacher. You can clear your doubts and ask any questions that may pop into your mind. But, these classroom trainings are quite expensive and may not be available to you in terms of their location.
  • Online training
Online training programs help in numerous ways. It has saved you the effort of being physically present in a classroom. The cost is considerably less than classroom training. This is an important factor in terms of the economic stability of an individual. There are several PMI approved online platforms that provide you the online training.

Being approved by the PMI ensures that their content is of standard, and particularly follows the syllabus contents of the PMP examination. The major disadvantage that can be associated with online training is that there is no teacher. You have to make yourself study and motivated, and there is no one to help you clear your doubts and confusion.
