The best way to prepare for PMP Certification exam

Going through the PMP Exam prep to obtain the project management certification is a daunting task. Achieving the PMP Certification requires dedication – and a solid study plan. Planning on taking on the PMP? Here’s what you need to do – to ace the project management professional exam.

How to prepare for the PMP?

1.       Attend formal PMP Training to earn your Professional Development Units (PDUs)

 2.       Start with a simple study guide, such as “How to pass PMP in first attempt?” – by Andy Crowe. This will help you give a gist of the topics that will be covered throughout your PMP Course.

 3.       Once you have completed your first study guide – take a mock test and see where you stand. Analyze your scores and understand your strengths and weaknesses. You can refer to “Rita Mulcahy” to identify the correct answers – and understand the concepts better.

 4.       Go through the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition. The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) is the key study material of the PMP Exam. 97% of the questions asked in the examination revolve around the methodology and terminology mentioned in this core study guide.

 5.       Attend seminars and project management gatherings. The Project Management Institute (PMI) frequently arranges them. This is where you can meet like-minded PMP Certified professionals and other aspirants. Share insights and tips on how to ace the certification exam.

 6.       Use examination tools. Simulators are a great way to get the pace required to solve the entire question paper in the allotted time. Podcasts, flashcards, and PMI online courses are also some of useful examination tools.

Hope this helps. Make sure you craft a solid study plan – and schedule an examination date according to your preparation pace. Stick to your learning hours. Clearing the PMP exam might be a daunting task – but certainly not an impossible task.
