The Qualification test for project management is one of the toughest to break. Many people struggle to pass the PMP Exam-but I trust you don't. If you are in that situation, otherwise you may have to wait a year before your final check date until you can apply for your PMP certificate again. Over the years I have found several reasons for anyone to start failing the test. Yet – and as frustrating as knowing that can be – if something occurs to you, you need to realize that your part of the problem! You 're doing the exam because you couldn't do it, so you can take that blame because a lot of different people do so every year.
Reasons for failing in exam
- You are having trouble understanding the examination concepts.
Perhaps the reason for the failure of the test is simply because you do not recognize the principles listed in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) Guide, or because you did not fall correctly into your PMP Exam prep. Although you might have heard this many times, you probably couldn't find it necessary to use the principles to clear the exam for whatever reason.
- The exam pressure is too high!
Most students are acquainted with the subject, have the skills, and are well educated. Yet instead they always wind up null on the test day. The pressure is too high for them and they cannot deal with such intensity.
- English might not be your first language.
I have to admit that when I was taking the test I had trouble interpreting the various PMI terms and meanings that were so new to me.
- The distractions are too much to handle.
The test rooms are not just used for PMP examinations, such that certain disturbances can exist and people come in and out. The most significant case I know is a student who said a cleaner had come into the exam room and cleaned her machine when she was learning-she failed. Of course, that's unusual! Nonetheless, you will be able to heal after the test easily by interruption of some sort.
